The Food & Mood Journal is Nutri-Q's tool for logging different aspects of a client's diet, mood, and wellness over a period of time. Clients can write whatever they would like in each section and it gives you a good overview of their food intake, lifestyle, BMs, exercise, and so on.
- Clients log the following categories: Foods, drinks, supplements, energy & mood, movement & relaxation, and digestion & reactions.
- Duration: Clients must log at least three separate days before submitting the form.

Logging a day in your Journal
There are four main steps to log a day in the Food & Mood Journal.
1. Select a day
When you start a new Food & Mood Journal, the form automatically opens to the current day. To log a different day, click a date on the timeline at the top of the form. Use the left and right arrow buttons to display dates earlier or later than the current week.
2. Enter Wake Time and Sleep Time (Optional)
Next to the timeline, you can enter your wake and sleep time for that day. This is an optional step, but gives your practitioner additional information about your daily lifestyle habits.
You can enter wake and sleep time by typing directly into the text field, or by clicking the field and selecting a time from the drop-down menu.
3. Add a New Time Row
To enter data into the form, you must add one or more rows to your daily log, which correspond to a specific time range.
- Click Add New Time Row
- In the pop-up dialog, enter a Start Time and End Time for the row and click Add Row.
- The row is added to your log. You can edit the Start and End time of a row by clicking the edit icon highlighted below. To delete an unneeded row, click the trash can icon.
Once rows are added, you cannot change the order that they are listed in your daily log, even if you the modify the Start and End time. When you add your time rows, create your earliest entries first and work through the day in chronological order.
4. Enter your food and mood logs for that row
Every row contains a box for each of the Food and Mood logging categories. You do not need to fill out every box in every row you create. To enter information, click the Edit icon in the box you want to edit.
Log your entry in the pop-up dialog and click the Save button. You can enter up to 1000 characters per entry.
Your overall progress is saved every time you click the Save button in the text-entry dialog. You do not need to save the form itself (after finishing a day of logging, for example). The save state is updated every time you enter a new log.
5. Add additional rows as needed
Repeat steps three and four as many times as needed to add additional rows and log the rest of your day. In the following example, the client entered four rows:
When you are finished logging a day, you can simply close the form (your progress is automatically saved), or use the timeline to select a different day to log.
How to Resume Logging
There are two ways to resume logging in your Food & Mood Journal at a later time:
- On your client dashboard, click My Log in the left sidebar.
- On your To Do page, click Finish next to Food & Mood Journal.
Submitting the Form
Before you can submit the Food & Mood Journal, you must log at least three separate days using the steps above. Once you have added data on three separate days, a submit button will appear at the bottom of the form.
Clicking Submit Food & Mood Journal finalizes the form and sends the results to your practitioner. Do not submit the form until you have logged all the days you intend to log.
