Direct Link Clients

  • Updated

Direct Link Clients are clients that do not create a Nutri-Q account.

Instead you will send them direct links to the to-do items that you’d like them to complete. They will not have access to the site other than the forms you send them, and they will not need to enter any login information.

This option is best for the following situations:

  • If your client will not do any food logging with the Food & Mood Journal.  The Food & Mood Journal is not available for Direct Link clients.
  • If you do not need your client to be able to log into the site to see their Symptom Burden Graph.
  • If you want your client to go directly to their To-Do item(s) without having to create a login for the site.

Enabling Direct Link Clients

By default, the Direct Link Client option is not shown when you add a new client. You can use the following steps to enable direct link clients.

  1. In the bottom-left corner of the interface, click your profile image and go to My Account.

Creating Direct Link Clients

1. Add New Client

On the Add New Client page, you’ll see two options at the top of the pageone for Full Account, and one for Direct Link.  Select the Direct Link option as shown below, choose a Client Category, and fill out any additional information.

Phone Number and Address are optional fields, however an email address is required for Direct Link clients, as this is how you will send them their To-Do items.

2. Assign To-Do Items

At the bottom of the page, check the To-Do items you want your new client to complete at intake. In this example, we've assigned an Initial Interview and a Nutritional Assessment Questionnaire (NAQ).

3. Choose Notification Method

In the Client Notification section, choose how you want your client to be notified of the form assignments you selected above.

  • Have Nutri-Q email my client with links to these forms - When you click Submit at the bottom of the page to finish configuring the client, they will receive an email containing direct links to the Form(s) you selected. They can open these links directly from email, fill them out, and submit them.

  • I'll send the links myself - When this is selected, the client is not automatically notified of the new To-Do items.  Instead, a pop-up will appear containing the direct URLs to the forms you selected.  You can then compose an email to your client, and send the links yourself.

4. Click Submit to finish creating the client.

Click Submit at the bottom of the page to finish adding your new client.  If you are letting Nutri-Q email the links automatically, you will see the following confirmation dialog.

Your client will receive an email resembling the one shown above. When the client clicks on the links sent to their email, they are taken directly to the form that needs to be completed. They do not create a Nutri-Q client account, however the client does appear in your My Clients list.  You can visit their profile to edit information or assign future To-Do items.

When your Direct Link client has completed the forms you assigned to them, the results will show up in the practitioner’s portal just as they do with regular, Full Account clients.

Assigning Additional Forms

When you need to send additional To-Do items to an established, Direct Link client, you can do so from their client Profile.

  1. Find them in your My Clients list, and open their client profile.
  2. In the Data & To-Do Items tab, click Add a new to-do item.
  3. Choose the form you want to assign, and select the delivery method. As before, you have an option to let Nutri-Q email the client automatically, or you can generate the form URL and send it yourself.

Re-sending Direct Link To-Do Items

  1. Click the Options drop-down menu next to the form you want to resend.

Converting a Direct Link client to Full Account

Having your clients create an account on the Nutri-Q platform offers a few advantages over direct link clients.

  • Full Account clients can use the Food & Mood Journal.
  • They can see all their submitted forms, pending to-do items, and published Recommendations in one place.
  • Full Account clients can view their Symptom Burden Graphs if you have enabled this feature.

Use the following steps to convert a direct link client to a full account client:

  1. Go to My Clients, and open the client profile you want to convert.
  2. On their client profile click the Info & Settings tab.
  3. Click Edit Client Settings.
